Joyce, who has played football for just two years, announced his decision Sunday after taking a recruiting visit to the Westwood campus this past weekend. ``It's the ideal place for me,'' he said. ``The coaches are great, the guys are great.'' Joyce has caught 116 passes for more than 2,100 yards and 21 touchdowns over the past two seasons. He attracted the interest of college recruiters because of his blazing speed, athleticism and potential for improvement. Joyce is also a top baseball player and plans to play both sports at UCLA. ``I think it's a great place for him because he's a two-sport guy,'' Hart offensive coordinator An offensive coordinator typically refers to the coach on a football team in the National Football League or College football who is in charge of the offense. This position aids the head coach by designing and scripting plays, delegating work to offensive position coaches during Dean Herrington said. ``He has a lot of potential (in football) that he hasn't fulfilled yet. He'll show people what kind of speed he has.'' Joyce moved to Valencia from Florida as a 10th-grader. He went out for football last season as a junior and helped lead Hart to the Southern Section Division II football championship. This season, he caught 65 passes for 1,046 yards.
