NEWHALL - The Santa Clarita Valley The Santa Clarita Valley is the valley of the Santa Clara River in Southern California. It stretches through Los Angeles County and Ventura County. Its main population center is the city of Santa Clarita. The valley was part of the 48,612-acre (19,672.  Food Pantry is taking part in a $1 million challenge to fight hunger Fight Hunger is a global initiative, based in Rome, Italy [1], calling for the end of child hunger by 2015 [2].  to the food pantry during March and April will count toward the grant from Alan Shawn Feinstein. Feinstein implemented the annual program to encourage people to participate in community campaigns to fight hunger. Locally, the organization is hoping donations now will benefit current clients and that the matching donation will provide additional benefits later in the year.

The Food Pantry, at 24133 Railroad railroad or railway, form of transportation most commonly consisting of steel rails, called tracks, on which freight cars, passenger cars, and other rolling stock are drawn by one locomotive or more.  Ave., Newhall, was established in 1986 by a small group of volunteers. Now 60 volunteers run the program and help more than 3,200 clients, more than half of whom are children. The pantry also serves an average of 120 senior citizens each month. The organization has noted a 7 percent increase in its client base in the past two years.

Feinstein has been sponsoring the $1 million challenge for seven years and has helped raise more than $350 million to battle hunger nationwide. Information is available at www.feinsteinfoundation.org.
