SCT AWARDED TWO MULTI-YEAR, MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR OUTSOURCING CONTRACTS

SCT AWARDED TWO MULTI-YEAR, MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR OUTSOURCING CONTRACTS
MALVERN, Pa, Jan. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Systems & Computer Technology Corporation (SCT) (NASDAQ: SCTC), an applications software and computing management services company, today announced the signing of two multi- year contracts for the company's OnSite services, valued at more than $17 million.
These two new contracts are with Norwich University, located in Northfield, Vt., and Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Fla. Under the terms of the contracts, SCT will plan, operate, manage and staff Norwich University's administrative, academic, computing, and telecommunications operations; and Florida Institute of Technology's administrative computing resources. SCT will also supply new administrative software, the BANNER(R) Series, that operates on smaller, more powerful computers costing less to operate. In addition, the contracts provide for licenses for IntelliQuest(TM), a natural language query system that runs in conjunction with BANNER software.
Norwich University is a four-year independent, comprehensive institution with two campuses in Vermont: the Military College of Vermont located in Northfield, and Vermont College in Montpelier. The contract includes four of the five BANNER systems -- student, finance, human resources and alumni/development -- and three IntelliQuest licenses, as well as the OnSite computing management services. The five and one-half year contract was signed and became effective in December of 1991.
Florida Institute of Technology is an independent technological institution with its main campus in Melbourne and with 12 graduate centers at various locations around the nation. SCT's contract with Florida Institute of Technology provides for seven and one-half years of OnSite services. The agreement also includes four of the five BANNER systems -- student, finance, human resources, financial aid -- with four individual licenses for IntelliQuest.
SCT's chairman and chief executive officer, Michael J. Emmi, said, "These two contracts represent the second and third agreements with new clients for SCT that combine BANNER software and computing management services. This 'bundled' strategy allows SCT to deliver total business solutions with advantages that include improved service, guaranteed performance, and greater accountability. The combination of software and management services has proven successful and is the direction that SCT has been aggressively pursuing in the last year." In June of 1991, SCT was awarded a $42 million dollar contract, the largest in the company's history, which also provides for both BANNER software and OnSite services.
Founded in 1968, SCT is a leading provider of computing management services and applications software for educational institutions and government jurisdictions nationwide. The company provides a wide range of technical and management services, including: software implementation; project management; user liaison support and training; systems development; and computer processing and operations consulting support. SCT is headquartered in Malvern, with regional offices in California, Texas, South Carolina, Louisiana, Kentucky and Puerto Rico.
