SCPRSA Announces Mercury Award Winners.

 Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America The Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), based in New York City, is the world's largest organization for public relations professionals. The organization has more than 30,000 professional and student members, and is organized into 112 chapters nationwide.  (SCPRSA) honored the winners of its annual Mercury Awards competition at a banquet in Columbia on April 7. The winners work in Columbia, Greenville, Traveler's Rest, Spartanburg, Charleston, Mt. Pleasant, Beaufort, and Hartsville.

The awards program encompasses three types of awards. Mercury Awards recognize public relations public relations, activities and policies used to create public interest in a person, idea, product, institution, or business establishment. By its nature, public relations is devoted to serving particular interests by presenting them to the public in the most  programs and campaigns. Silver Wing Awards recognize outstanding tactics used in public relations. Individual Awards recognize the career accomplishments of individuals.

Overall Best in Show winner for Mercury was Kara Kara (kär`ə), river, c.140 mi (230 km) long, NE European and NW Siberian Russia. It flows N from the N Urals into the Kara Sea, forming part of the traditional border between European and Asian Russia. It is navigable in its lower course.  Sproles Mock of K.
