Having started the Scouting program as a Tiger Cub at age 6, he progressed through Cub Scouts earning the highest award, the Arrow of Light. Advancing to Boy Scouts in the sixth grade, he worked up through the ranks to attain his goal of Eagle Scout. He has earned 24 merit badges, contributed over 50 service hours to Scout projects and volunteered as a camp counselor. For his Eagle community service project, Weary replaced the broken concrete slab Concrete slab A shallow, reinforced-concrete structural member that is very wide compared with depth. Spanning between beams, girders, or columns, slabs are used for floors, roofs, and bridge decks. in front of the Acton Chamber of Commerce building and installed new support posts for the porch. The project included preconstruction planning, demolition of the broken slab, forming for the new large slab, pouring the concrete and painting and installing the new posts. Currently a senior at Paraclete High School Paraclete High School is a Catholic High School in Lancaster, CA operated independently of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles. 186 seniors graduated in the 2006-2007 school year. , Weary is a member of the varsity cross country team. He has earned his varsity letter in both cross country and track as well as an academic letter. He is active in the Associated Student Body and is a member of the National Honor Society The National Honor Society (NHS), established in 1921, is a recognition program for American high school students who show achievement in scholarship, leadership, service, and character. and the National Scholarship Federation.
