SCOUT TROOP AIRLIFTED FROM HIKE.

LAKE PIRU Lake Piru is a lake located in Los Padres National Forest in Ventura County and was created by the construction in 1955 of the Santa Felicia Dam on Piru Creek which is a tributary of the Santa Clara River.  - A group of Boy Scouts hiking on Pot Holes Trail had to be airlifted off the ridge when one of the adults in the group fell ill from heat exhaustion heat exhaustion, condition caused by overexposure to sunlight or another heat source and resulting in dehydration and salt depletion, also known as heat prostration. The symptoms are severe headaches, weakness, dizziness, blurred vision, and sometimes unconsciousness. , authorities said Monday.

Robert Hines Robert Hines (born March 28, 1961 in Manhattan, NY), was a professional boxer in the Light Middleweight (154lb) division. Known as "Bam", Hines turned pro in 1981 and won the IBF Light Middleweight Title with a decision win over Matthew Hilton in 1988. , a 43-year-old carpenter from Thousand Oaks, fell ill from the heat late Sunday afternoon, stranding four other adults and five Scouts from the Thousand Oaks troop on a trail that was about 1,500 feet above sea level, officials said.

``It was 95 degrees when we landed around 6:30 p.m.,'' said Jim Dalton, the Ventura County sheriff's helicopter pilot who rescued the group. ``I think the heat just got to be more than what they expected.''

Hines had not had anything to drink in three hours, and was dehydrated de·hy·drate

, Dalton said. He was given water once he was brought aboard the helicopter, which was summoned by one of the other adults who had a cell phone.

Hines was treated at Santa Paula Hospital Santa Paula Hospital (SPH) is a hospital in Santa Paula, California, USA. The hospital is a campus of the Ventura County Medical Center. SPH has 145 full-time employees, 30 shared patient beds, and 19 private patient rooms[1].  and released.

Dalton said the group was carrying packs and sleeping bags and appeared to have been on their way back down the trail after an overnight trip. Dalton said it took two trips to bring the group and its gear down off the trail.
