SCOTS GIRL KIRSTY STEPS IN; Weathergirl Andrea leaves after a decade on GMTV.
The Scot, a former NASA intern, will work alongside fellow meteorologist Clare Nasir. They will broadcast on alternate weeks.
Kirsty leaves her role on the BBC weather team, having joined the corporation in 2003.
The 33-year-old, from Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, studied geophysics at Edinburgh University, graduating with a firstclass honours degree.
She then spent three months as an intern at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Centre in Maryland.
Kirsty won't be the only new face on GMTV in the New Year - Emma Crosby from Sky News will join Kate Garraway, Andrew Castle and Ben Shephard as a co-host.
GMTV chief Peter McHugh said: "We wanted to freshen up the programme and the addition of Emma and Kirsty to our already established presenting team is part of that plan.
"We'll be sprucing up the set too, so our viewers will have a lot to look forward to."
