ATLANTA, June 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Scientific-Atlanta's (NYSE: SFA) Instrumentation Group has received a $4.2 million extension to its U.S. Army Aviation Vibration Analyzer contract for helicopter rotor track and balance equipment.
The new order, for additional RADS-AT (Rotor Analysis and Diagnostic Systems-Advanced Technology) units, brings the total number of units under contract to more than 1,000 and a total contract value in excess of $20 million for units, spares and support. The contract is with the U.S. Army Aviation Systems Command (AVSCOM) in St. Louis.
Scientific-Atlanta's RADS-AT is a fully automatic system that features expert diagnostics which indicate to users the precise rotorhead adjustments required to achieve smooth flight. The system was jointly developed with Stewart-Hughes, Ltd. (UK) and is manufactured by Scientific-Atlanta's Instrumentation business in San Diego.
