Palmdale School District The Palmdale School District is a school district that serves a major part of the city of Palmdale, California (USA).

The Palmdale School District was first formed in 1888. Approximately 28,000 students are enrolled in the Palmdale School District.
trustees voted unanimously in favor of supporting the proposed College Park housing development, which would put a second Antelope Valley College Antelope Valley College is a comprehensive community college located in Lancaster, California, USA. Proposed more than four years ago but opposed by neighbors because it would put more than 800 tract homes in what is now a rural area, the project was backed by the school trustees after an appeal by college President Linda Spink.

``I think the campus is critical to this community,'' Spink said. ``We have one of the largest square miles of district, and we only have one campus. We are not serving the southeastern tier of our district very well at all.''

The vote was 4-0, with trustee Frederick Thompson abstaining because he is employed by the college.

The school board has no direct authority over whether the housing development and college campus will be built, but its support can be laid before the city Planning city planning, process of planning for the improvement of urban centers in order to provide healthy and safe living conditions, efficient transport and communication, adequate public facilities, and aesthetic surroundings.  Commission when the commission considers the project tonight.

The commission meets at 7 p.m. at Palmdale City Hall, 38300 Sierra Highway Sierra Highway is a road in Southern California, United States. The City Council last year told the developers to revise the project to take into account the Palmdale General Plan, which earmarks the area for homes on large rural lots.

Spink said that the project must be approved by June of this year or the college would not be considered for receiving funds from Proposition 1A, a $9.2 billion school construction bond measure passed by California voters last year.

Spink told the school board that ``this project can only do good for the city of Palmdale.''

In the latest revision of the proposed specific plan, the Antelope Valley College Palmdale campus would be located at 37th Street East and Avenue V. The 80 acres for the campus was donated to the college by developer David Bushnell Noun 1. The revised plan calls for 852 homes, a shopping center shopping center, a concentration of retail, service, and entertainment enterprises designed to serve the surrounding region. The modern shopping center differs from its antecedents—bazaars and marketplaces—in that the shops are usually amalgamated into  of 30,000 square feet and a 150-acre golf course spread over 540 acres of what is now rolling, brush-covered hills. An alternative plan omits the golf course and increases the number of homes to 874.

Spink said that she hopes that the campus would be open as early as 2004. The initial campus, which would cost more than $30 million and be approximately 95,000 square feet in size, would have three buildings and could serve nearly 3,000 students.

Spink said that upon completion, the campus would serve approximately 10,000 students. Antelope Valley This article is about the Los Angeles County region. For the census-designated place in Wyoming, see Antelope Valley-Crestview, Wyoming.

One of the trustees voiced some qualms before voting in favor of the plan.

``I'm mainly concerned about the process of asking us (the school board) to pass this resolution when it's really a city issue. This really becomes a city issue and not a school district issue,'' said trustee Sheldon Epstein. ``But I do favor higher education higher education

 and a south campus.''

Although no one spoke at the school board meeting against the plan, neighbors have complained to city officials that the project would destroy their area's rural nature.

``We have tried to change the project to satisfy individuals. But there are some people that will never be happy with the project,'' Spink said. ``I think this project brings a lot to the area.''
