SCHOOL NEWS.Byline: The Register-Guard Crest Drive school earns grant for science program Crest Drive Elementary School elementary school: see school. has received a $8,356 grant from the Eugene Water & Electric Board's Partners in Education program. The grant is intended to support the school's environmental science curriculum focusing on watersheds. The grant will help with publishing costs of a second year's text (`Our Path to the Pacific - the Crest Drive Watershed'); equipment for water testing Water Testing Water testing is used around the world on various waterways to improve the quality of the water and test how well the water is already. It is vital for many people around the water-ways and for drinking water. and microscope labs; support for field trips and an outdoor school excursion excursion /ex·cur·sion/ (eks-kur´zhun) a range of movement regularly repeated in performance of a function, e.g., excursion of the jaws in mastication. as a culminating activity for the program; and stipends for the staff who are researching and writing the curriculum. This is the second year Crest has introduced environmental science as a cornerstone cornerstone Ceremonial building block, dated or otherwise inscribed, usually placed in an outer wall of a building to commemorate its dedication. Often the stone is hollowed out to contain newspapers, photographs, or other documents reflecting current customs, with a view to of their school's educational focus.
