Here's a partial list of some of the holiday giving projects either completed or under way at Lane County schools:

Applegate Elementary: The school's parent group is organizing a winter clothing collection for needy students.

Awbrey Park Elementary: With assistance from North Eugene High School North Eugene High School is a public high school of about 1,200 students in Eugene, Oregon, United States. It is located at 200 Silver Lane near the Santa Clara area of Eugene.[1] North Eugene's mascot is the Highlander. , the school will provide winter food baskets for needy Awbrey Park families.

Bohemia Elementary: The fifth-grade class had a blanket and coat drive that yielded almost 200 items, and an annual food drive is under way.

Camp Creek There are over one thousand places in the United States named Camp Creek, including several hundred streams: Streams

 Elementary: The school will work with the local church and grange to provide food baskets and gifts to six Camp Creek families.

Cascade Middle School: Through a food drive and collaboration with local church and business groups, students will supply food and gift boxes to about 27 needy Cascade families.

Churchill High School: The school just completed a warm clothing and bedding drive and shoe drive, and just started a toy drive for Toys for Tots Toys For Tots is a program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve which donates toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas. The program was founded in 1947 by Major Bill Hendricks. . The annual food drive beginning this week will benefit needy area families and FOOD for Lane County, and the leadership class will buy gifts of clothing for infants and toddlers in the school's child development center. National Honor Society The National Honor Society (NHS), established in 1921, is a recognition program for American high school students who show achievement in scholarship, leadership, service, and character.  buys toys for the same children. Students have and will continue to visit senior citizens at nearby retirement homes.

Clear Lake Elementary: For Thanksgiving, the school provided food baskets for 10 Clear Lake families, and a food drive this week should yield 10 more baskets.

Cottage Grove High School Cottage Grove High School is a public high school located in Cottage Grove, Oregon. It has a newer school building, opened in 2003 to replace the old high school building that was built in 1939 and held its first classes in 1940. : The school's Interact group adopts a family through the Relief Nursery and buys and delivers gifts. Those students also help run the Rotary community celebration. The school is also collecting donations for Candle Lighters, which helps kids with cancer, and food.

Crest Drive Elementary: The school is collecting school supplies, toys and more to ship to two schools in Afghanistan List of schools in Afghanistan

Creswell High School: The student body will donate $300 plus proceeds and canned food canned food

Creswell Middle School: A food and money drive for the local food bank kicks off this week, and staff will provide gifts for needy families at the school.

Crow Middle/High School: The middle school students have organized a food drive for FOOD for Lane County and will gather and shop for clothing for needy children to be distributed through the Lorane Fire District and the Rebekah Lodge.

Danebo Elementary: In a collaborative effort between staff and families, the school provided nearly two-dozen food boxes to needy Danebo families for Thanksgiving, and will do the same for Christmas, with the addition of toys.

Dorena Elementary: The school put together Thanksgiving food baskets for needy families, and a food drive is under way. Students send letters to the veterans' hospital and soldiers in Iraq on a regular basis.

Eastside Elementary: Students have been raising money all year - much of it from handmade craft sales at the Holiday Market - to help two homeless families secure housing. The money pays for their deposit, first and last month's rent, household items and clothing.

Edison Elementary: A food drive is under way.

Eugene Christian School A Christian School is a school run on Christian principles or by a Christian organization.

The nature of Christian schools varies enormously from country to country according to the religious, educational, and political culture.
: Fourth-graders just delivered 52 boxes for Operation Christmas Child, a national project run by The Samaritan's Purse Samaritan's Purse is a nondenominational evangelical organization engaged in crisis relief and community development. Founded in 1970 and active around the world, Samaritan's Purse offers aid to the victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine in response to an . The school's Cub Scouts made recycled Christmas cards for residents of the Emerald Care Center and will be caroling there this week. The parent-teacher group is collecting food, toys and clothes for seven needy families in the school, and second- and third-graders will be caroling at local senior homes.

Fairfield Elementary: The annual food drive is under way, and the parent-teacher organization will provide fresh foods to fill boxes for about 25 needy families.

Fox Hollow: A food drive for FOOD for Lane County and needy Fox Hollow families is under way, and the parent-teacher group will donate money for Christmas gifts.

Fern Ridge Middle School: The school is participating in the Veneta Kiwanis Club food drive.

Gateways Alternative School: The school collected food for Thanksgiving boxes for three families, and students have designed a poster to inform the public about the need for food donations.

Guy Lee Elementary: The school collected food for Thanksgiving boxes for 29 Guy Lee families.

Harrison Elementary: The school is participating in the fire department food drive and providing food, gifts and clothing for needy school families.

Irving Elementary: Through a food drive and donations from local groceries, the school provided food boxes for 21 families. For Christmas, three second-grade classrooms will each sponsor a family, providing food baskets and gifts. Fourth- and fifth-grade classrooms will forgo their class parties and instead shop that day for the Tree of Joy.

Kalapuya High School: A food drive is under way, and students are making holiday candy to deliver to a nearby mobile home park.

Kelly Middle School: The school held a food drive for FOOD for Lane County before Thanksgiving.

LIFE! Lutheran School Lutheran schools and education were a priority for Lutherans who emigrated to the United States and Australia from Germany and Scandinavia. One of the first things they did was to create schools for their children. : The school is collecting food for families served through the Lane ShelterCare's family housing program.

Lorane Elementary: The school is collecting food for Christmas baskets and other items for needy families.

Malabon Elementary: A food drive is under way for FOOD for Lane County, and another effort will provide food and gifts for more than 100 students.

Marist High School: The student council will soon present a check to the Eugene Mission from its annual quarter drive. Through the National Honor Society's Best Christmas Ever program, each classroom will provide food and gifts to families through the Relief Nursery.

It was founded as Eugene High School around 1900, and was located at Willamette Street and West 11th Avenue in a brick building that later served as Eugene's city hall. : Students in Peer Groups, marketing and child psychology will throw a holiday party in the cafeteria for the children served by First Place Family Center, complete with snacks, gifts and Santa.

Spencer Butte Spencer Butte is a prominent landmark in Lane County, Oregon, United States, south of Eugene. The peak has an elevation of 2055 feet[1] (626 m). Spencer Butte is accessible from Spencer Butte Park and has several hiking trails to the summit.  Middle School: The school has been raising money for foster children, and this past week held an activity night, giving all proceeds to a scholarship for a 9-year-old boy from Tanzania through the Students Helping Street Kids International program. Also, a Thanksgiving food drive yielded 3,400 pounds of food for FOOD for Lane County and needy families at First Place Family Center.

 Catholic School: Students have been decorating gift bags for inmates at the Lane County Jail and the Court Appointed Special Advocates CASA or Court Appointed Special Advocate is a national association that supports and promotes a court-appointed advocate on behalf of abused or neglected children in order to provide a safe and healthy environment in permanent homes.  program. Also, students will donate gift money and volunteer to help with meals when the school opens up its gymnasium to homeless families from Dec. 22 through Dec. 30 as part of the Interfaith shelter program.

On May 20, 1998, student Kipland "Kip" Kinkel killed his parents, William and Faith, both Spanish teachers at local high schools.

The Village School: The school recently completed a warm clothing drive for Centro LatinoAmericano, and has collected food for FOOD for Lane County.

Walterville School: Students collected more than 1,500 cans and boxes of food to provide Thanksgiving meals for six Walterville families, with the remainder going to FOOD for Lane County.

Willagillespie Elementary: A food drive for FOOD for Lane County is under way, and staff and parents worked to provide Thanksgiving baskets to needy families at the school.

Willamette High School Willamette High School is a school in Eugene, Oregon.

Willamette, or "Wil-Hi," is located in the Bethel-Danebo area of west Eugene, and is the only high school in the Bethel School District.
: Willamette will host an annual Senior Citizen Holiday Breakfast, where students and staff prepare and serve meals for 200 guests. During Thanksgiving week, students raked neighborhood yards early in the morning, and provided several food boxes to needy families. Students offered those families baby-sitting services the day after Thanksgiving. A food drive is under way for FOOD for Lane County, and staff members are providing baskets and gifts for four families.

Yolanda Elementary: A food drive for FOOD for Lane County is under way.
