SCHOOL BOARD TO WEIGH THEATER LOAN.

The Conejo Valley The Conejo Valley is a region spanning both Southeastern Ventura County and Northwest Los Angeles County in Southern California, United States. The school is seeking a three-year loan for the second dressing room as well as for an expanded production preparation area, adding 300 to 500 square feet to the current plan.

Board member Dorothy Beaubien said that the timing would be right to add the new dressing room. ``The reason it is being done right now is because it is easier to add that room now (while) it's being built rather than adding it later,'' Beaubien said. ``I don't see any problem (with granting the loan) if that's what they want to do.''

If approved, the school would repay the three-year loan with money raised through fund-raisers such as talent shows, dinner dances, concerts and festivals.

Last month the school held a dinner and dance to start collecting up to $200,000 for the addition. Results of the fund-raiser could not be determined Wednesday.

The school would be required to pay a down payment of about 30 percent of the loan upon the filing of notice of completion of the project. A 7.5 percent annual interest rate would be tacked onto the unpaid balance.

The school board will meet in regular session tonight at 7:30 in the board room at the district office, 1400 E. Janss Road.
