The artwork of Lily Robertson, who just finished her junior year at South Eugene High School South Eugene High School is a public high school located in Eugene, Oregon, United States. Owen also plans to attend OSU to study "something artsy," and is working at Taco Time over the summer. She was the Debate Club secretary and Key Club historian and bulletin editor, and was involved in Honor Society and Youth in Action. She won several school awards for her drawings and paintings.

Malabon's art museum wins 2005 Pioneer Award

Malabon Elementary School's Museum of Modern Malabon Art (MOMMA) is the recipient of the 2005 Pioneer Award from the Oregon Elementary School Principals Association, which recognizes schools that are developing unique programs and activities to more effectively meet the needs of students. MOMMA, run by music teacher Michael "Mule" Green, is a cafeteria gallery of student artwork, which is rotated monthly. The school will receive a plaque of recognition, and will be featured in the Oregon Elementary Principal's Journal next year.

Eugene alumni fund awards first scholarship

The Eugene High School/South Eugene High School Scholarship Fund awarded its first, $500 scholarship to 2005 graduate Rachel Hanson, who plans to attend Yale University. The scholarship is given for merit, need and extracurricular involvement and school/community involvement. The amount of the alumni-funded scholarship is expected to grow as donations increase.

The recipients of the Dawn Jordan Memorial Scholarship, sponsored by Lane County Mothers Against Drunk Driving Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) is a nonprofit organization with more than 600 chapters nationwide. MADD seeks to find effective solutions to the problems of drunk driving and underage drinking, while also supporting those persons whose relatives and friends have been killed by drunk  (MADD), were Alexandra McQueen, a 2005 graduate of Churchill High School, and Cassandra Harper, a 2005 graduate of Springfield High School. Both girls earned the award based on scholarship, character, volunteer activities, life goals and financial need. The award is named for Dawn Jordan, who was killed by a drunken driver near Oakridge in 1982 at the age of 17.

Thurston High sophomore will attend Space Camp

Sarah Garrelts, who just finished her freshman year at Thurston High School, has been selected to attend the U.S. Air Force Services Space Camp. She will fill one of just 64 slots at the camp, and will receive a full scholarship to attend. The program is open to family members of active duty military assigned to or living on an Air Force base, retired Air Force, Air Force civilian employees, Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve members.

North Eugene grads win Rotary Foundation awards

Britney Hale and Rena Calhoun, both 2005 North Eugene High School North Eugene High School is a public high school of about 1,200 students in Eugene, Oregon, United States.
