SCHLOSSBERG APPOINTED EVP OF MONY

NEW YORK, Jan. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Tom A. Schlossberg has been appointed executive vice president of Mutual of New York (MONY), the company announced today. Schlossberg, 42, of Stamford, Conn., previously senior vice president, is head of MONY's Pensions Operation located in Purchase, N.Y.
"Tom has provided MONY with vision and leadership in shaping the Pensions business during a time of profound change in the pension plan market," noted Michael I. Roth, president and chief executive offer. "As a 21-year MONY veteran, he has played a key role in building MONY's reputation as a top-quality full-service pension plan provider. He has led a significant expansion in the company's investment fund options and retirement product choices for pension clients." Since 1991, when Schlossberg was named to head the Pension sector, MONY's separate account assets -- funds earmarked for client accounts -- have risen from $3.4 billion to $4.2 billion.
Schlossberg joined MONY in 1971 as a programmer trainee. He rose through the ranks in the programming and data processing areas before being named vice president-pension administration in 1985, vice president in 1986, and senior vice president and head of Pensions in 1991. Schlossberg, a 1971 graduate of Boston University with a B.S. in mathematics, holds the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and the Fellow designation from the Life Office Management Association (LOMA).
