USC's tailback depth received a boost over the weekend as two of the country's top running backs - Reggie Bush Reginald "Reggie" Bush, birth name: Reginald Alfred Bush II (born March 2, 1985 in San Diego, California), nicknamed 'The Human Highlight Reel' and 'The President', alluding to President Bush, is an American football player who plays for the New Orleans Saints of the NFL.  and Lendale White LenDale Anthony White (born December 20, 1984) is an American football running back who plays for the Tennessee Titans. He played for Norm Chow at USC, who is now the Titans' offensive coordinator. His head coach in Tennessee, Jeff Fisher, also played for the USC Trojans.  - committed to the Trojans.

Bush, who is from La Mesa La Mesa (lə mā`sə), city (1990 pop. 52,931), San Diego co., S Calif., a suburb of San Diego; inc. 1912. The commitments give USC four incoming tailbacks: Bush, White, Chauncey Washington of South Torrance and Tony Hunt of Alexandria, Va.

USC lost out in its bid for the nation's top-rated quarterback, when Chris Leak of Charlotte, N.C., committed to Florida on Sunday.

The Trojans have 18 official commitments for next season, not including three players who will enroll next week and attend spring practice - safety Darnell Bing of Long Beach Poly and twin brother cornerbacks Ryan and Brandon Ting of Union City.

--Torres has surgery: Offensive guard Eric Torres, who broke his left ankle in the Orange Bowl, underwent surgery Saturday and had two metal plates inserted that will remain in his ankle for three-to-four months.

``I can't walk on my foot for three months,'' Torres said. ``I should be back for the fall but I'll miss spring practice. One of the Iowa defensive backs caught me from the outside and I just shattered it.''
