"A rapidly changing market requires a customer commitment that goes well beyond individual products. Customers who design SBS See Small Business Server.  AdvancedMC boards into their systems can count on integration support, quality, reliability, and availability to meet their most-demanding customer needs. We know what it takes to make AdvancedMC work in today's environment," said Dave Greig, President and COO of SBS Technologies.

The Telum ASLP10 is a single width, full height AdvancedMC processor board with integrated low power Intel Pentium M processor and dual Gigabit Ethernet channels. This AdvancedMC processor module supports full hot swap capabilities and is designed for use in a broad range of applications such as wireless base stations, Voice over IP, test and measurement systems, media servers, base station controllers, and server blades applications.

"SBS Technologies extends the reach of AdvancedTCA capabilities with their new Intel processor-based Advanced Mezzanine Card module," said Kevin D Johnson, Director of the Intel(R) Communications Alliance. "Telecommunications developers can develop modular highly flexible AdvancedTCA systems with these cards, while realizing quicker time-to-market, more flexibility, scalability, and leading edge performance with Intel processor technology."

The Telum ASLP10's unique feature set includes up to 2 GBytes of 400 MHz DDR2 SDRAM with ECC (1) (Error-Correcting Code) A type of memory that corrects errors on the fly. See ECC memory.

, and a PCI Express 8X data port via the AdvancedMC connector.

"The Telum ASLP10 AdvancedMC processor module is the result of SBS Technologies' long history and wide ranging expertise in Mezzanine Modules and SBC (1) (SBC Communications Inc., San Antonio, TX, www.sbc.com) A large, national telecommunications company that grew from a multitude of local and regional companies, including Southwestern Bell, Pacific Bell and Nevada Bell, into a single, unified brand by 2002.  designs," said Rubin Dhillon, General Manager of SBS Technologies' Communications division. "The Telum ASLP10 gives a system integrator the high performance of the latest Intel Pentium M processor, Gigabit Ethernet bandwidth, and excellent thermal properties, helping them maximize their high-performance system designs. This module is designed specifically to enable today's modular system architectures such as AdvancedTCA."

The Telum ASLP10 also includes a Module Management Controller (MMC See MultiMediaCard and Microsoft Management Console. ) supporting the card's Intelligent Platform Management Interface The Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) specification defines a set of common interfaces to computer hardware and firmware which system administrators can use to monitor system health and manage the system. Several dozen companies support IPMI.  (IPMI (Intelligent Platform Management Interface) A protocol for monitoring server hardware for temperature, voltage, chassis intrusion, etc. Introduced in 1998 by Intel, HP, NEC and Dell, IPMI defines a standard set of messages for the characteristics of hardware ) architecture. The MMC is responsible for power sequencing, hot swap capabilities, and module management.

The Telum ASLP10 supports MontaVista(R) Linux Carrier Grade Edition and SUSE(R) Linux CGL See Carrier Grade Linux.  Edition operating systems specifically designed for robust, high availability applications like those required by the communications industry.
