SBC Communications Inc. posted a first-quarter net loss of $81 million, or 2 cents a share, compared with a profit of $1.85 billion, or 54 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue fell 6 percent to $10.5 billion. Including its Cingular Wireless joint venture, firstquarter revenue fell 3.9 percent to $12.6 billion. Excluding a one-time charge, SBC's first-quarter profits were flat, at $1.7 billion, or 51 cents a share.
