: SBC) today announced a new contract to provide IP telephony The two-way transmission of voice over a packet-switched IP network, which is part of the TCP/IP protocol suite. The terms "IP telephony" and "voice over IP" (VoIP) are synonymous.  and network services to Texans Credit Union, a not-for-profit financial cooperative based in Richardson, Texas Richardson is a suburb in Dallas County and Collin County, Texas. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 91,803, while according to a 2006 estimate, the population had grown to 99,200. .

Under the terms of the three-year contract, SBC companies will deliver its SBC PremierSERV(SM) IP Telephony Advantage managed services for Voice over IP (VoIP) solutions supporting the Cisco Systems(R) Architecture for Voice, Video and Integrated Data (AVVID AVVID Architecture for Voice, Video and Integrated Data (Cisco)

) platform. SBC companies will also provide SBC PremierSERV(SM) Network-based Virtual Private Network (NVPN NVPN Natural Voice Practitioners Network (UK)

), SBC PremierSERV(SM) Data Center Hosting and OPT-E-MAN(R) service. These new services will provide a converged IP network for voice, video and data, which will result in increased efficiencies, lower costs and simplified network management, to all 26 branches of Texans Credit Union.

SBC companies will also provide network integration services, such as SBC PremierSERV(SM) Staging, SBC PremierSERV(SM) Consulting Services and SBC Project Management. These services will help reduce the risk and complexity of deploying multisite technologies and will provide added security through on-site project managers.

Together, the new services will expand Texans Credit Union's network and provide a platform for highly reliable voice, video and data transmission. The new network will also provide an always-available customer contact center for Texans Credit Union's customers.
