 senior Kaitlyn Shipley, 17, was awarded top honors at the 2005 National Dance Alliance U.S. Championship held March 6 in Las Vegas Las Vegas (läs vā`gəs), city (1990 pop. 258,295), seat of Clark co., S Nev.; inc. 1911. It is the largest city in Nevada and the center of one of the fastest-growing urban areas in the United States. .

Kaitlyn was awarded a $1,000 college scholarship and a 4-foot-tall first-place trophy designating her as the NDA's 2005 U.S. Championship Best Dancer.

In addition, Kaitlyn achieved the highest final point score of all solo categories, ages 7 to 22, during the dance competition. She personally choreographed her own winning routine.

Judges for the NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement) An agreement signed between two parties that have to disclose confidential information to each other in order to do business. In general, the NDA states why the information is being divulged and stipulates that it cannot be used for any  Dance Championship represent various parts of the country, so style differences are balanced in evaluating the performances.

The scoring process for the NDA Championship is similar to that of gymnastics and figure skating figure skating

Situated in the Santa Clara valley and nearby canyons, Santa Clarita includes the former towns of Canyon Country,  STARS Showteam, which trains under the direction of Holly Diaz at The Dance Experience in Canyon Country. Her training coach for this solo routine was Elisa Garcia.
