Saugus High graduate Sean Woodside will be entered in the NASCAR NASCAR (National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing), organization that sanctions American stock-car races, est. 1948. It held its first race in Daytona Beach, Fla.  Featherlite Southwest Series Stockton 125 at Stockton 99 Speedway tonight.

The former Winston West champion was forced to find a ride after Valencia-based Walker Motorsports closed last week citing lack of sponsorship dollars to continue the season. Woodside, who was prepared to race the entire Winston West season, had to change plans.

He was second in points in the Winston West Series after two races, but he won't be competing in today's Pontiac Widetrack Grand Prix Grand Prix

He only competed in one Busch Series event. It came in 2002, when he ran the event at Las Vegas for Jay Robinson Racing. Raudman started 42nd and managed his way to 32nd by day's end.  led from pole to finish of a 101-lap race.

Former Saugus Speedway champ Ron Hornaday Ron Hornaday, Jr. (born in Palmdale, California on June 20, 1958) is a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver. He is the father of former NASCAR driver Ronnie Hornaday, and the son of Ron Hornaday, Sr., a two time Winston West Champion.  Jr., who has been a substitute driver for Hendrick Motorsports Hendrick Motorsports is a group of NASCAR racing teams started by Rick Hendrick in 1984 under the name "All Star Racing", racing only Chevrolets, racing in both the Nextel Cup and Busch Series circuits.  this year on the NASCAR Busch Grand National Division, won three Southwest Series races in a row from 1992-93 at Stockton 99 Speedway.

--Winston West notes: Greg Pursley of Canyon Country enters the NASCAR Winston West Series race at California Speedway third in points and tied for the lead in the rookie standings.

Pursley trails series leader Austin Cameron by 50 points. Cameron has won the first two races of the season.

Pursley and Mike David are tied in the rookie points race.

NASCAR Winston Cup driver Ken Schrader is the only two-time Winston West winner at California Speedway and is expected to be entered in today's race.

Brendan Gaughan, two-time Winston West champion, won the California Speedway race last year, chasing down Jon Wood and taking the lead on lap 98 of the 100-lap race.

Gaughan is now a regular on the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and is making his debut on the Winston Cup Series on Sunday in the NAPA Auto Parts 500.

--American Le Mans Series notes: Hart High graduate Bryan Herta and his Panoz Motor Sports teammates will be in Le Mans, France, this weekend to prepare for the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Le Mans pre-qualifying is on May 5. The two Panoz teams have been testing and preparing for the France endurance race by testing at Virginia International Racway and Road Atlanta over the last few weeks.

Herta will be teamed with drivers David Brabham and Jan Magnussen in the team's No. 11 Panoz LMP-1 Evo entry.
