SAUDI ARABIA - Prince Abdul-Aziz Ibn Salman Ibn Abdul Aziz Al-Saud.


One of the brightest sons of the powerful Emir of Riyadh Riyadh or Riad (both: rēäd`), city (1997 est. pop. 3,000,000), capital and largest city of Saudi Arabia, in the Nejd, central Saudi Arabia. It is situated in an oasis, c.240 mi (390 km) inland from the Persian Gulf. , Prince Abdul-Aziz is Na'imi's deputy in his capacity as undersecretary for petroleum policy at the ministry, a post he was given in mid- mid-
pref.

Multinational organization established in 1960 to coordinate the petroleum production and export policies of its
 affairs. Close to Abdeu-Aziz is Prince Faisal ibn Turki, one of Na'imi's oil advisers who also worked under Nazer. There are three other deputy ministers under Na'imi: Ibrahim Khaberi for natural minerals, Abdul-Rahman Abdul-Karim for corporations, and Ousama Tarabulsi for auditing affairs. The senior economic adviser to the ministry is Muhammad al-Saban. Majed al-Muneef is another senior adviser to the ministry. The general counsel to the minister is Saud al-Ammari.

Prince Abdul-Aziz is a bold figure and is occasionally sent on delicate missions abroad. He also maintains links with some of the private Saudi oil companies. In late May 1997, he led a Saudi delegation to the Russian Russian

associated in some way with Russia.
