Thomas' favorite hobbies are, by her own admission, an odd mix. ``The two really don't have anything to do with each other; that's why it's kind of weird when people ask me, 'What are your hobbies?' '' she said. Thomas has been drawing since she was in sixth grade, an endeavor encouraged by teachers who told her she had great potential. She is a relative newcomer to basketball. The 5-foot-10 Thomas, who transferred to Hart from Alemany of Mission Hills last summer, didn't start playing organized basketball until she was 13. Her athleticism has made her a quick study. Thomas excelled in track at Alemany, qualifying for the Mission League finals in the 200- and 400-meter events as a freshman. Hart coach Dave Munroe said Thomas is an exceptionally coachable player who has made major strides in several areas, including defense, rebounding and free-throw shooting. He believes she has only begun to tap into her potential. ``She can definitely play at the next level, and I believe she can play Div. I,'' Munroe said.
