SASI Consulting to Work with Angleton ISD.


HOUSTON -- Houston-based SASI (Shugart Associates Systems Interface) A peripheral interface developed by Shugart in 1981 that evolved into the ANSI SCSI standard in 1986.  announced today that it has been contracted to work with the Angleton Independent School District Angleton ISD is a public school district in Angleton, Texas (USA), comprised of 5 levels of education. Established in 1897, AISD encompasses 396 square miles in Brazoria County, serving Angleton as well as the Village of Bonney and parts of Rosharon.  in Angleton, Texas. SASI Consulting will be assisting the AISD AISD Austin Independent School District (Texas)

 in improving the district's emergency response and crisis management plan. In July of this year, SASI Consulting assisted the AISD in obtaining a United States Department of Education The United States Department of Education (also referred to as ED, for Education Department) is a Cabinet-level department of the United States government. Created by the Department of Education Organization Act (Public Law 96-88), it began operating in 1980.  Grant for such purposes.

Under this program, SASI will assist the AISD in reviewing their emergency operations plan, performing building assessments, and providing emergency response and crisis management training."

In an earlier press release acknowledging the AISD receipt of funds, US Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings said, "Knowing how to respond in a crisis and the ability to do so quickly is critical to ensuring the safety of our schools and students. These grants will help school districts incorporate appropriate methods and procedures in their emergency response plans and will also help them better coordinate with the entire community."

The Federal Emergency Response and Crisis Management program provides funds to help local education agencies prevent or mitigate, prepare, respond and recover from crises. Funds can be used to train school personnel and students in crisis response; communicate emergency response and reunification re·u·ni·fy

The 14 month project will begin in late November.

The Emergency Response and Crisis Management program supports local school districts' efforts to improve and strengthen school emergency response and crisis management plans, including training school personnel and students in emergency response procedures.

The grants are housed within the Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools, which supports efforts to create safe schools, respond to crises, prevent drug and alcohol abuse, ensure the health and well being of students, and teach students good citizenship and character. The office also coordinates the Department's efforts in these areas with other federal agencies.
