SAP, a German information technology company, opened a new service center in Rio Grande do Sul Rio Grande do Sul (rē` grän`dĭ th s state in Brazil Brazil (brəzĭl`), Port. Brasil, officially Federative Republic of Brazil, republic (2005 est. pop. 186,113,000), 3,286,470 sq mi (8,511,965 sq km), E South America. . The center will service North and South American American, river, 30 mi (48 km) long, rising in N central Calif. in the Sierra Nevada and flowing SW into the Sacramento River at Sacramento. The discovery of gold at Sutter's Mill (see Sutter, John Augustus) along the river in 1848 led to the California gold rush of clients and will create 80 jobs. Terms were not not disclosed.
