Santa Claus
 won't be coming to town.

After 75 years featuring the best Tinseltown had to offer, the Hollywood Christmas Parade The Hollywood Christmas Parade took place every year for 75 years on the weekend after Thanksgiving in the Hollywood community in Los Angeles, California, United States. The parade's 3.  has been canceled.

Jaime has attended several of the annual parades with her family and watched it on television when she couldn't attend.

Held the first Sunday after Thanksgiving, the parade was created in 1928 to draw Los Angeles residents to the Hollywood area during the holiday shopping season.

In the parade's heyday, hundreds of thousands of fans came out to see golden era stars such as Jimmy Stewart, John Wayne, Bob Hope and Mary Pickford serve as grand marshals. Through the years, millions more watched on local and national television broadcasts.

Over the past decade, organizers said, the parade lost money about half the time as the chamber struggled to secure advertising dollars and a television contract needed to guarantee celebrity participation.

"We've been looking to save this parade for 10 years," said Leron Gubler, Hollywood chamber president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. We always had hoped to turn it around. For us, it's very sad to have to make this announcement."
