Situated in the Santa Clara valley and nearby canyons, Santa Clarita includes the former towns of Canyon Country, - In case there wasn't enough anticipation surrounding next week's Foothill League dual meet between Hart of Newhall and Valencia, the Vikings girls' swim team added a little bit more excitement to the equation with its performance at the second annual Santa Clarita Relays. They're an up-and- coming young team, and we're the older, more experienced swimmers. I think pride is going to have a lot to say (Wednesday).'' The victory by the Valencia girls' team was one of the prouder moments in the 11-year history of the Vikings' program.
