SANTA CLARITA CELEBRATES AMERICA; PEOPLE PUTTING PRIDE ON PARADE.

The city may be bursting at the seams with growth, but it still clings to its small-town Independence Day traditions, the cornerstone of which is Saturday's Fourth of July Fourth of July, Independence Day, or July Fourth, U.S. holiday, commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence. Celebration of it began during the American Revolution.  Parade.

The parade is scheduled to start at 9:45 a.m. at Hart Park in Newhall and march through city streets to Newhall Park, where a Country Fair will be in full swing.

A shop that sells used articles, especially clothing, as to benefit a charitable organization.
, where the Newhall Rotary Club will be serving country pancakes with all the trimmings. Floats will be assembling across the street from the breakfast area at Hart Park.

The Country Fair theme will be augmented by a focus on education.

The superintendents of the local school districts will be the division marshals and the grand marshal Grand Marshal is a ceremonial, military, or political office of very high rank. The term has its origins with the word "Marshal" with the first usage of the term "Grand Marshal" as a ceremonial title for certain religious orders.  of the parade.

Grand Marshal Clyde Smythe, former head of the William S. Hart Union High School District, will be among the honorees.

Division marshals will be Saugus district Superintendent Gail Wickstrom, former Newhall district Superintendent J. Michael McGrath and current Superintendent Marc Winger, as well as Robert Lee of the Hart school district.

There will be more than 100 entries in the parade, with 14 equestrian groups, several dozen children's organizations, war veterans groups, car clubs and a selection of jazz bands. Many of the entries also will compete for awards including Best Decorated, Best of Theme, Best Overall, Grand Equestrian and Sweepstakes.

The KBET-AM (1220) ``Boom Box'' will lead the parade, then be parked at the end of the route as an announcing booth. In keeping with the education focus, KBET has asked all the Student of the Month winners to join disc jockeys in the booth.

Former Santa Clarita Valley The Santa Clarita Valley is the valley of the Santa Clara River in Southern California. It stretches through Los Angeles County and Ventura County. Its main population center is the city of Santa Clarita. The valley was part of the 48,612-acre (19,672.  Chamber of Chamber President Gary Johnson and Kathy Newfeldt of Valencia Bank also will be announcing from the KBET booth.

The Country Fair will continue all day and into the night with live bands and performance groups from the Santa Clarita Valley. All proceeds will go to benefit the revitalization of the Newhall Elementary and Hart High School Hart High School may refer to:
  • Hart High School — Newhall, California
  • Hart High School — Hart, Michigan
  • Hart County High School — Munfordville, Kentucky
  • Hart County High School — Hartwell, Georgia
 auditoriums.

A barbecue dinner will be served at VFW See Video for Windows.  Post 6885 in Canyon Country.
