Helmsman will be making a lesser comeback in the Inglewood. He hasn't raced since displacing his soft palate while finishing fifth in the March 2 Santa Anita Handicap. Helmsman, carrying 120 and ridden by Chris McCarron, has won two of four races on turf and two of three on dirt - including his Strub Stakes victory - since trainer Wally Dollase bought him in France. ``This horse is one of those special ones that can go on either turf or dirt,'' Dollase said. The five-horse Inglewood includes Dernier Empereur and College Town. Hollywood Park will take bets on the Illinois Derby at Sportsman's Park and the Withers at Belmont Park today but not the Pimlico Special, a four-horse race headed by Cigar stablemates Geri and Wekiva Springs.
