San Fernando (săn fərnăn`dō), city (1991 pop. 144,761), Buenos Aires prov., E Argentina. It is a district administrative center in the Greater Buenos Aires area.

And when it was all over it was the No.3-ranked Tigers who advanced to tonight's championship game of the Hart boys' basketball tournament, holding off No. 6 Cleveland 76-70.

It was apparent from the beginning that local bragging rights were at stake for San Fernando and Cleveland, with both teams running and pressing at a furious pace.

But in the final minutes, the Tigers made the fewest mistakes. San Fernando broke off a 9-3 run to end the game, highlighted by a 3-pointer from Sean Atkins.

Simmagin Smith led Cleveland with 19 points, hitting on an array of jumpers while also scoring inside. Kent Dennis scored 17 for the Cavaliers.

San Fernando got double-figure scoring from three others - Tyrone Purnell (19 points), Devon Montgomery (16) and Mike Page (12).

Simi Valley 66, Sylmar 52: Rafael Berumen took charge during the second half and the No. 1-ranked Pioneers stretched out what had been a close game, advancing to the championship.

Both teams battled for the first three quarters, but in the final quarter the Pioneers took control with a 15-2 run.

The outburst was highlighted by back-to-back dunks by Berumen and Ian Boys (12 points), followed by a 3-pointer from Branduinn Fullove (14 points).

During that stretch, Sylmar's offense disappeared with the Spartans missing numerous shots from the floor.
