SALVATORI NAMES ARENA

 SARASOTA, Fla., Oct. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Salvatori Ophthalmics, Inc. announced today that Joseph A. Arena, who has been chief executive officer of the company since April 1993, has been elected president of the company. Arena also serves as the chief financial officer and treasurer of the company. He succeeds David J. Dougherty, who resigned as the president, director and as the chairman of the board of directors' of the company this week to pursue other interests.
 Salvatori Ophthalmics, Inc. is a Sarasota, Fla. based manufacturer of soft and rigid gas permeable contact lenses, principally focusing on specialty lenses, including toric and bifocal designs. The company also has manufacturing facilities at Lincoln, Neb. Its stock is traded in the over-the-counter market.
