 SALK, WIESEL HIGHLIGHT DEDICATION OF HEADQUARTERS FOR RHONE-POULENC
 RORER; BACHARACH, WARWICK, FLACK AND BOOSLER HEADLINE AIDS BENEFIT
 UPPER PROVIDENCE TOWNSHIP, Pa., Sept. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Nobel Laureate Elie Wiesel, an Auschwitz survivor and prize-winning author and social commentator, and Dr. Jonas Salk, discoverer of the polio vaccine and active with Rhone-Poulenc Rorer (NYSE: RPR) in research of a therapeutic AIDS vaccine, will address a gathering of international dignitaries at the dedication of RPR's new U.S. headquarters beginning at 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 25, 500 Arcola Road, Upper Providence Township.
 The day's events will be followed by an 8 p.m. AIDS Benefit Concert sponsored by RPR at which Burt Bacharach, Dionne Warwick and Roberta Flack will perform. Commediene Elayne Boosler will emcee the concert event at the Mann Music Center, 52nd and Parkside, Philadelphia. Proceeds of the concert will benefit the Family AIDS Clinics at St. Christopher's Hospital and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Circle of Care, a comprehensive service organization providing health care and services to families of children with AIDS. The Family AIDS Clinics at the two Philadelphia childrens' hospitals are the health care delivery system for the Circle of Care.
 Salk has also been selected to receive the inaugural RPR World Health Award, which will be presented by RPR Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Robert E. Cawthorn during the ceremonies. The award will be given annually to an individual who demonstrates a selfless dedication to improving world health. The award was initiated as a symbol of the company's commitment to world health and to mark the dedication of the new corporate and research and development center in Upper Providence. Salk is scientific advisor to Immune Response Corp. a California-based company currently involved with RPR in a joint venture to develop an AIDS immunotherapeutic.
 Registration and facility tours will begin at 9 a.m. At 11 a.m. opening ceremonies, including a keynote address by Wiesel, will be followed by the award presentation and comments from Salk, a luncheon and a brief dedication ceremony. Additional facility tours will be conducted from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.
 Rhone-Poulenc Rorer is a global pharmaceutical company dedicated to the discovery, development, marketing and manufacturing of human pharmaceuticals. The company reported sales of $3.8 billion in 1991 and plans to invest over $500 million in research and development in 1992.
