``It's continuing to look good,'' said Marlee Lauffer, Newhall Land spokeswoman. ``We continue to see strong traffic and lots of interest.''

The largest increase in home sales came during the summer and fall as model homes opened in the new Bridgeport community, she said. More are expected to open soon.

Builders also will be developing the Copperhill, Woodlands and Village Walk communities, but the largest emphasis will be at Newhall's Westridge Golf Course communities. Lot sales to merchants are expected during the later part of this year and early next year, the report said.

Lauffer said builders are now offering buyers homes ranging in price from $210,000 to $1.2 million and in size from 1,000 to 4,600 square feet.

Despite the increase in home sales, Newhall anticipated a higher sale rate. But the report said building began to slow because of an over abundance Abundance
