SALE OF ADMIRAL CRUISES' TWO VESSELS NEARS COMPLETION

SALE OF ADMIRAL CRUISES' TWO VESSELS NEARS COMPLETION
MIAMI, Dec. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., operator of Admiral Cruises, announced today an agreement to sell the 756-passenger Azure Seas to Miami-based Dolphin Cruise Line for delivery in mid-May 1992 (an exact date has not yet been finalized). The sale is subject to certain conditions. The 776-passenger Emerald Seas is also in advanced negotiations for sale to an undisclosed buyer.
Royal Caribbean is announcing these impending sales at this time to remove speculation and uncertainty about plans for the future of these vessels.
"Although these two vessels have always been popular and have consistently contributed to our profits, they no longer fit into Royal Caribbean's long-range plans," stated Richard Fain, chairman and CEO of Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. "As Royal Caribbean Cruise Line takes delivery of its new mega-ships Monarch of the Seas and Majesty of the Seas our focus is on the expansion of the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line brand."
Currently, the Emerald Seas offers three- and four-night cruises from Fort Lauderdale's Port Everglades to the Bahamas. It will cease operations effective Feb. 20, 1992.
The Azure Seas, which operates a weekly eastern Caribbean itinerary from Port Everglades, will cease operations in May 1992.
For all affected sailings, travel agent commissions will be protected on fully deposited bookings. All passengers under deposit will receive full refunds or offered suitable protection.
