SAIC Wins U.S. Geological Survey EROS Data Center Technical Services Contract.

Science Applications International Corporation's (SAIC SAIC - http://saic.com. ) Space, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences (SEAS) Group today announced a contract award from the Department of the Interior's U.S. Geological Survey The term geological survey can be used to describe both the conduct of a survey for geological purposes and an institution holding geological information.

Under the terms of the agreement, SAIC's SEAS Group will provide scientific, engineering and operational technical support services support services Psychology Non-health care-related ancillary services–eg, transportation, financial aid, support groups, homemaker services, respite services, and other services .

This cost-plus-award-fee contract is valued at almost $155 million and will be performed over a period of five years. ) Earth Observing System The Earth Observing System (EOS) is a program of NASA comprising a series of artificial satellite missions and scientific instruments in Earth orbit designed for long-term global observations of the land surface, biosphere, atmosphere, and oceans of the Earth.  Data and Information System. The Center holds the world's largest collection of remotely sensed data covering the Earth's landmasses, housing 15 million satellite images and aerial photographs. Multi-disciplinary scientists at the Center are conducting sophisticated long-term studies of global change and related earth science issues. The USGS has operational responsibility for the Landsat satellite series and the growing number of Landsat images that have recorded changes in the Earth's surface for more than 30 years.
