SAFECARD SERVICES NAMES TWO TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS

 CHEYENNE, Wyo., June 22 /PRNewswire/ -- SafeCard Services, Inc. (NYSE: SSI) today announced that two company executives have been added to its board of directors, increasing to five the board of the nation's largest credit card protection company.
 Elected were W.M. Stalcup Jr., 45, president, and Gerald R. Cahill, 42, chief operating officer.
 The company also said it expects to add at least one additional outside director in the future. Currently, there are three public directors.
 Stalcup is an 12-year veteran of SafeCard Services with a background in data processing, direct response marketing and programming in credit card operations.
 He joined SafeCard in February 1981 as senior vice president and in 1988 became president. A graduate of Emporia State University (Kansas) in 1969 with a B.S. degree in business administration, Stalcup saw active duty with the United States Marine Corps in 1969 and 1970 and also served in reserve duty from 1970 until 1975.
 Stalcup joined Mobil Oil Credit Corporation at its Kansas City Credit Card Center in 1970 as an operations analyst and was promoted in succession to handle data processing, system analysis, programming and operational managerial roles through 1977. In that year he was promoted to manager, direct response marketing.
 Cahill joined SafeCard in August 1988 as chief financial officer and became chief operating officer in 1992.
 A graduate of the University of Miami in 1973, Cahill joined Price Waterhouse, certified public accountants, in 1973 as a staff accountant and was promoted later to audit senior in 1976 and two years later in 1978 was named audit manager.
 Cahill joined Resorts International, Inc. in June 1979 as director, financial reporting and was promoted in 1983 to director, financial reporting and tax.
 He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and a member of the AICPA Task Force on Reporting on Advertising Activities.
 SafeCard Services, Inc. is the world's largest provider of credit card registry services and also provides other enhancement services through its credit card issuer clients.
