SAFE Commission defended.We were disappointed to read of your opposition to the Securing America's Future Economy (SAFE) Commission Act legislation that we introduced (September/October DA V Magazine). We have been strong supporters of veterans throughout our years in Congress and our commitment remains steadfast. The men and women who bravely serve in our Armed Forces deserve not only our utmost gratitude and respect, but also tangible resources that provide for them and their families during and after their service. It is impossible to repay America's veterans for defending our liberty and freedom, but we continue to try to provide for their needs. We salute their service and we hope this letter helps explain why we have proposed creating the SAFE Commission.
