SABER DIAMOND TOOLS, INC.

Diamond is the hardest material on earth! It is logical that the physical properties of diamond result in an excellent cutting edge for tooling. The use of Industrial Diamond Cutting Tools has proven to be an exceptionally cost effective choice for abrasive abrasive, material used to grind, smooth, cut, or polish another substance. Natural abrasives include sand, pumice, corundum, and ground quartz. Carborundum (silicon carbide) and alumina (aluminum oxide) are important synthetically produced abrasives.  materials, high volume production and automated au·to·mate

, president and owner of Saber Diamond Tools has to say about this innovative application of the world's hardest material.

Q What made you decide to start Saber?

A It was evident in the early 1980's that diamond tooling would have a solid future in the woodworking industry. The movement toward more expensive woodworking machinery made longer lasting tooling essential -- diamond tooling fits that niche. The fact that Saber specializes in diamond tooling enables it to concentrate its resources in this fast growing market.

Q Do you see any new applications for diamond tooling?

A Every day there are new potential uses for diamond tooling. Anytime a woodworking machinery builder has a new idea or an end user wants to cut material differently, a new type of tooling opportunity is created. Also recent new equipment that is available to cut diamond as well as new types of diamond being produced opens up new diamond applications.

Q Where do you see the industry heading?

A The movement toward faster production speeds will continue as manufacturers attempt to keep production costs in line. Customers will demand higher quality wood products, which means continued movement to better quality, longer life edges on cutting tools.

Q What changes have you seen in the panel processing industry over the years?

A Much more computer A controlled equipment, faster processing speeds See MHz. , demands for higher quality and more accurate cuts in wood processing Wood processing is an engineering discipline comprising the production of forest products, such as pulp and paper, construction materials, and tall oil. The use of new materials -- wheatboard, synthetic stone overlays (Corian types) -- will also stimulate the need for longer life, more abrasion abrasion /abra·sion/ (ah-bra´zhun)
