SAAB UNVEILS SECOND-GENERATION SAAB 900 AT FRANKFURT MOTOR SHOW

FRANKFURT, Germany, Sept. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Saab took the wraps off its second-generation Saab 900 at the 55th IAA Motor Show in Frankfurt.
Designed and developed in Sweden by the aircraft-turned-automaker's team of engineers and technicians, the all-new Saab 900 embodies the special spirit and styling heritage that is synonymous with the name Saab -- a distinction that began with the first Saab 92 prototype.
Like its predecessors, including the most recent series of 1978 through 1993 900 models, the all-new 1994 Saab 900 combines superior performance and a fun-to-drive persona with industry-leading safety and environmental advances.
The extensive list of new 900 highlights includes a 2.5-liter V6 engine option -- the first V6 in Saab's history. A broad range of safety features and technical innovations, such as dual air bags and the unique Saab rear "Safeseat" (which includes three-point, inertia-reel seat belts in all three rear seating positions), also adds to the Saab 900's already long list of standard equipment.
The 1994 Saab 900 debuts at Saab dealers throughout the United States during November. Prices will begin in the low-to-mid $20,000 range.
