SAAB HOLDS THE LINE ON 1994 PRICING:ALL-NEW SAAB 900 S BEGINS AT $20,990

NORCROSS, Ga., Oct. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Saab Cars USA, Inc., importer and distributor of the distinctive Saab 900 and 9000 automobiles, has announced the price of its all-new 900 series.
The suggested retail price for the new 1994 Saab 900 S, 5-door, starts at just $20,990.
The Saab 900's lengthy list of standard features includes a driver's- side and front passenger air bag, anti-lock brakes (ABS), integrated safety cage construction, front and rear crumple zones, front seat belt pretensioners, a side-impact protection system, CFC-free air conditioning with interior ventilation filter and all-window demisting, heated front seats, an AM/FM stereo cassette, telescopically adjustable steering wheel, power windows and mirrors, child-proof rear door locks and windows, and central locking with integrated theft alarm. In addition, debuting in every new Saab at no additional charge is an innovative 40/100 fold-down rear Saab "Safeseat," an advanced "Black Panel" instrument illumination system, a low-speed front impact protection system, heat-absorbent glass and a deadlock security system. Like every 1994 Saab, the all-new 900 is backed by Saab's generous six-year/80,000 mile Major Systems Warranty, including bumper-to-bumper, no-deductible coverage and Saab Roadside Assistance for three years/40,000 miles.
According to William S. Kelly, president and chief executive officer, Saab Cars USA, Inc., "The aggressive pricing of our versatile Saab 900 will offer segment-leading value for money, and provide Saab buyers with a recognized price/value advantage for cars in this category."
Saab has essentially held the line on its 900 pricing. For 1993, the suggested retail price for the final, first-generation Saab 900 3-door was $20,850 (the 900 S 4-door was $21,485), compared to $20,990 for the all-new 1994 Saab 900 S.
Kelly emphasized, "Car for car, the mid-size 1994 900 Saab represents an even better value than its compact predecessor, due to the significant increase in product content and standard safety features, along with the benefit of its 5-door body style."
A host of upgrades are available optionally, including a 2.5-liter, 24 valve, 170 Hp, four-cam V6 engine -- Saab's first six-cylinder ever -- power seats, leather seating surfaces, power glass tilt/slide sunroof with sunshade, "Turbine Spoke" alloy wheels, and an electronically controlled, four-speed automatic transmission.
Suggested retail pricing for optional Saab 900 equipment is as follows:
 -- 2.5-Liter, V6 engine package $2,295
 (with Traction Control and
 alloy wheels)
-- Power glass sunroof with shade $ 980
 -- Leather upholstery package $1,195
 -- Power seats $ 820
 -- Automatic transmission $ 895
The all-new Saab 900 5-door will go on sale at Saab dealers throughout the United States during early November.
