SAAB ANNOUNCES AVAILABILITY OF GMAC SMARTLEASE
SAAB ANNOUNCES AVAILABILITY OF GMAC SMARTLEASE ORANGE, Conn., Nov. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Saab Cars USA, Inc. and
General Motors Acceptance Corporation (GMAC) have entered into an agreement which will allow Saab dealers to offer GMAC's SmartLease to qualified Saab lease customers, effective Dec. 1, 1991.
According to Kenneth F. Adams, vice president, finance and administration, Saab Cars USA, Inc., "The availability of GMAC's SmartLease program for Saab dealers is another example of the powerful synergy derived from the creation of Saab Automobile AB." Saab Cars USA, Inc. is a subsidiary of Saab Automobile AB, Trollhattan, Sweden. Saab Automobile AB is a 50/50 joint venture between Saab-Scania AB, Sweden and General Motors (Europe) AG, Switzerland. Adams further noted, "With the GMAC SmartLease, Saab dealers will be able to offer consumers even greater latitude to tailor lease agreements to their best advantage." GMAC's SmartLease, is recognized for its flexibility, which allows Saab lessees to design their own monthly payment plant to satisfy their individual budgets as a function of the down payment amount. In addition, the SmartLease is known to be easy to comprehend, which helps consumers understand the terms of the agreement and thereby avoids unanticipated charges or discrepancies at the end of the lease. GMAC's SmartLease provides what's known as "Gap Protection," which, in the event that the vehicle is stolen or destroyed,
covers the Saab lessee's financial liability, if any, remaining after insurance settlement.
