SAAB 9000 QUALIFIES FOR 'LOWER-THAN-STANDARD' PREMIUMS FROM STATE FARM INSURANCE COMPANIES

NORCROSS, Ga., Nov. 19 ~PRNewswire~ -- State Farm Insurance Companies have included the Saab 9000 on their list of 1993 models that qualify for "lower-than-standard" collision and comprehensive insurance premiums.
Under the State Farm rating plan, models qualifying for lower rates generally are charged from 10 to 45 percent less than the standard premiums for collision and comprehensive coverages. State Farm based its 1993 ratings on actual vehicle damage and theft claim losses for similar models during previous years.
Like every 1993 Saab, the 9000 series includes a driver's-side air bag and anti-lock brakes as standard equipment, as well as sturdy, safety-cage construction with integrated front and rear crumple zones. In addition, the Saab 9000 includes automatic seat belt pretensioners to instantaneously reduce any possible slack within the front seat belts in the event of a serious frontal collision.
Continually pressing ahead as an industry leader in both active and passive safety, the Saab 9000 series now features a new system for improved side impact protection and increased torsional rigidity with the addition of reinforced partitions in the rocker sills, a new front seat cross member on each side of the car, and a strengthened connection between the sills, B-pillar, and roof. The 1993 Saab 9000 CS further benefits from a new, integrated roll-bar structure behind the rear doors for improved rollover protection.
The Saab 9000 was also recently listed as "much lower than average" to insure by Allstate Insurance Company. Voted Sweden's "safest car" twice in succession by Folksam, the country's largest insurer, the Saab 9000 has been honored with numerous other safety accolades throughout the world.
