S/L/A/M Collaborative Announces New Higher Education Projects.

GLASTONBURY, Conn. -- The S/L/A/M Collaborative, an architectural firm that specializes in education, science & technology, and health care, has been awarded three new campus projects from the State University of New York (SUNY) and one project from the University of Georgia.

S/L/A/M Collaborative has been selected by SUNY at Buffalo to renovate the University's 145,000 square-foot Acheson Hall providing a new home for the nationally ranked School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and advancing the biomedical community on its South Campus. The former chemistry building will be completely gutted and renovated to provide new classroom and biotech research space bringing the building and its technologies into the 21st century. The project includes the use of "University of Buffalo High Performance Building Guidelines" to achieve a LEED(TM) certifiable building.

SUNY Upstate Medical University located in Syracuse has also selected S/L/A/M Collaborative for its new Biotechnology Research Center. The 80,000-square-foot facility will contain research labs, technology transfer space, offices, and conference rooms dedicated to biotechnology research and economic development efforts. S/L/A/M will also design SUNY Binghamton's new building addition to its Science III/IV Complex. The addition, a multi-story surge structure with a maximum size of approximately 70,000 square feet will house laboratory space, classroom laboratories and support facilities.

For the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy, S/L/A/M will design and construct a new Biomedical Health Sciences Facility. The project is primarily a lab and instructional space facility that will include new construction and renovation. It will include a pharmaceutical care center, research labs, teaching labs and space for collaborative research for drug discovery.
