Russia vows peace.


U.S. and Russian officials recently met in Switzerland to pledge friendship between the two countries U.S. Secretary of State Warren Christopher held two days of talks with Russia's foreign minister Andrei V. Kozyrev. Christopher questioned Russia's war on rebels in Chechnya (see CE15). Kozyrev promised peace soon and said Russia was committed to democracy.
