Rural ranking scale under review.

The RRS RRS - An early definition of Scheme. Revised in R2RS.

["The Revised Report on Scheme", G.L. Steele et al, AI Memo 452, MIT, Jan 1978].
review has focused on the adequacy and appropriateness in 2007 of the scale and to ensure it is future-proofed. While NZNO NZNO New Zealand Nurses Organisation  did not make a formal submission, it has supported the New Zealand New Zealand (zē`lənd), island country (2005 est. pop. 4,035,000), 104,454 sq mi (270,534 sq km), in the S Pacific Ocean, over 1,000 mi (1,600 km) SE of Australia. The capital is Wellington; the largest city and leading port is Auckland.  Rural Genera genera, in taxonomy: see classification. [ Practice Network (NZRGPN) viewpoint.

So far I have been involved in two meetings of the working party, which is made up of around 20 representatives and includes GPs and members from district health boards, primary health organisations Primary Health Organisations (PHOs), in New Zealand, are a collection of health providers, which are funded on a capitation basis by the New Zealand Government via its District Health Board. , the Accident Compensation Corporation, New Zealand Medical Association and the NZRGPN. They are a very diverse group with diverse opinions. Coming from such an isolated rural practice myself, I have found the cross-fertilisation of ideas stimulating.

Although the RRS is a GP funding stream, it has relevance to nursing because nurses are members of the rural health team. As they consider their future business relationships, I believe they too will experience the burden of the extra expense that rurality incurs. Recently rural midwives received an extra $2 million dollars for distribution.

Rural nurses wanting to discuss these issues with me further are welcome to call me at Aotea Health on Great Barrier Island, phone 09 429 0356.
