The University of Oregon is one of 60 members of the Association of American Universities.  freshman Galen Rupp Galen Rupp (born May 8 1986 in Portland, Oregon) is an American cross-country and track and field athlete. He is one of the nation's top young distance runners, having set important junior national and American high school records while competing for Portland, Oregon's Central  turned in a pair of top-10 finishes at the Ergebnisse track and field meet Saturday.

Rupp finished eighth in the 3,000 meters in 8 minutes, 4.62 seconds. Adam Goucher Adam Goucher (born February 18 1975) is an American cross-country and track and field athlete. He primarily competes in middle distance events and is featured in Running With The Buffaloes , who is also coached by former Duck standout Alberto Salazar Alberto Salazar (born August 7 1958 in Cuba) is an American marathon runner of the 1980s. Born in Cuba, Salazar immigrated to the United States with his family. They ultimately moved to Wayland, Massachusetts, where Salazar competed in track and field in high school. , won in 7:53.49.

Rupp finished 10th in the 1,500 in 3:44.39. Reign win twice

at softball tournament

NEWBERG - The Oregon Reign won both of their games Saturday at the Newberg Invitational 18U softball tournament.

The Eugene team defeated the Boring Uproar 5-2 and the Oregon Pirates of Portland 7-0 to improve their record to 22-3.

Ashley Likens hit a two-run triple, and Jamie Raush and Sunceray Titus were each 2-for-3 in the win over the Uproar. Kelly Dyer also tripled for the Reign.

Reign pitcher Melissa Scott threw six innings, giving up six hits and two walks and striking out two.

In the victory over the Pirates, Samantha Lang drove in two runs, and Jackie Sharp, Lily Rogers and Raush each drove in one.

Sharp also pitched five innings, giving up four hits and no walks and striking out four.

FLORENCE - Three area golfers were among the top five in their divisions Saturday after the first round of the Oregon Golf Association Public Links Championship at Sandpines Golf Links.

Brookings' Jennifer Jackson led the women's division with an 87, and Reedsport's Aubrey Vaughn was tied for fifth with a 92. In the men's division, Cottage Grove's Scott Larsen shot a 72 and was one stroke behind leader Marc Goodell of Roseburg.

CORVALLIS - Single-game tickets for all 2005 Oregon State home football games will go on sale Wednesday.

Beginning at 8:30 a.m. that day and continuing for one week, tickets will only be available online at www.osubeavers.com. The OSU Ticket Office will begin taking walk-up sales and phone orders July 20. Tickets for all games at Reser Stadium are $36 each.

Single-game tickets for all of Oregon State's away football games will go on sale at 8:30 a.m. Monday, either in person or over the phone.

A limited number of tickets to this year's Civil War football game in Eugene will be made available to current season ticket-holders only. Season ticket-holders may only purchase two tickets per order, and the cost of each ticket is $55.
