Chafing chafe  
v. chafed, chaf·ing, chafes

v.tr.
1. To wear away or irritate by rubbing.

2. To annoy; vex.

3. To warm by rubbing, as with the hands.

v.intr.
 makes babies cry and can reduce a grown man to groans. Like a blister, an area that chafes during a long run can focus what seems like every nerve and thought to that one spot on your skin. Skin rubbed raw by clothing or by skin against skin (like armpits) can be a problem in both cool and warm weather. If you have a tendency to chafe chafe (chaf) to irritate the skin, as by rubbing together of opposing skin folds.
