Former Scotland and Lions hero Jeffrey said: 'Argentina are a big, physical side.

'So I have told the players they must not get drawn into a game up front.'

The Scots have studied a video of Argentina's game against England in the last round and know exactly what challenge they face.

Three Puma tries came from set-piece moves close to the opposition line and Jeffrey said: 'England played into their hands by trying to make it a set-piece battle.'

Scotland are guaranteed their best final position in the tournament but fifth place would cap an impressive run.

Coach Iain Paxton also believes the team must avoid a forward confrontation.

He said: 'We're going to have to play a high-tempo game and keep the ball in play. Argentina play a simple game based round big physical forwards
