Rudman to keynote Bar Foundation's 30th anniversary event.


Former U.S. Sen. Warren Rudman Warren Bruce Rudman (born May 18, 1930 in Boston, Massachusetts) was an American Senator from New Hampshire. He was elected as a Republican in 1980 and re-elected in 1986, and was known as a pragmatic centrist, to such an extent that President Clinton approached him in 1994 about  will be the keynote speaker when the New Hampshire New Hampshire, one of the New England states of the NE United States. It is bordered by Massachusetts (S), Vermont, with the Connecticut R. forming the boundary (W), the Canadian province of Quebec (NW), and Maine and a short strip of the Atlantic Ocean (E).  Bar Foundation celebrates its 30th anniversary on Thursday, May 10, at the C.R. Sparks Event Center in Bedford.

In addition, the foundation will be honoring attorney Frederic K. Upton, of counsel to Upton & Hatfield LLP LLP - Lower Layer Protocol  and a member of the New Hampshire Advisory Committee of Judicial Ethics, as the 2007 winner of the Frank Rowe Kenison Award.

"Senator Rudman is a distinguished statesman, known nationally and internationally for his many achievements. As a member of the New Hampshire Bar, he left an indelible mark on the practice of law in the state of New Hampshire through his creation of a modern attorney general's office in the 1970s, which has served as a model for his successors," said Richard McNamara Richard McNamara (born 23 October 1972, Bailiff Bridge, Yorkshire) is the guitarist for the English band Embrace. He and his older brother, Danny, grew up in the village of Bailiff Bridge, near Bradford, in West Yorkshire. Danny is the band's singer. , Bar Foundation board member and president of the New Hamshire Bar Association. "His devotion to the ideals of the profession and to the rule of law is exemplified by his work to ensure the survival of the Legal Services Corporation The Legal Services Corporation (LSC) is a private, nonprofit organization established by Congress in 1974 to provide financial support for legal assistance in civil matters to people who are poor (Legal Services Corporation Act of 1974, 42 U.S.C.A. § 2996 et seq.).  during his years as a United States senator."

A lifelong resident of New Hampshire, Rudman began his career practicing law in his hometown of Nashua. During his 12 years in the Senate, he was instrumental in saving federal funding for civil legal services legal services n. the work performed by a lawyer for a client.  for low-income Americans, which continues to be a significant source of funding used to provide civil legal assistance for low-income and elderly residents of New Hampshire.

Also as part of the event, Upton will receive the Kenison Award, which recognizes individuals whose work has contributed significantly to the betterment of New Hampshire citizens through the administration of justice, the legal profession, or the advancement of legal thought.

"It's good that the Bar Foundation is giving public recognition to Fred Upton because so much of his contribution to the system of justice in New Hampshire has been done without publicity and fanfare. Few people in this state have done so much, for so long, to foster a high standard of judicial conduct, advance the professionalism of attorneys, and improve the delivery of legal services. Fred should be a model for the rest of us (abuse) for The Rest Of Us - (From the Macintosh slogan "The computer for the rest of us") 1. Used to describe a spiffy product whose affordability shames other comparable products, or (more often) used sarcastically to describe spiffy but very overpriced products.

Also to be honored at the dinner will be attorney Joceline D. Champagne, coordinator of the Low Income Taxpayer Project at the New Hampshire Pro Bono Short for pro bono publico [Latin, For the public good]. The designation given to the free legal work done by an attorney for indigent clients and religious, charitable, and other nonprofit entities.  Referral Program.
