Vertical and horizontal machines are offered to rubber and elastomer molders. The vertical range of machinery, identified as MVPI and available with a clamping force from 100 to 675 tons, provides accessibility to the mold area either from the machine front or laterally. Benefits are said to be obtained with the Ecologica version of the MVPI machines featuring a pump driven by inverter-guided electric motor, namely reduction of energy consumption and noise, and a lower risk of overheating the oil circuit. For applications requiring horizontal machines with limited clamping force, the company designed the MPOG range. Available with a maximum clamping force of 1,400 kN, a direct piston clamp replaces the conventional toggle system. However, a special toggle-plus-piston combination has been devised for particular applications, with the possibility of using either one or the other solution separately. For medium to large applications, the company designed the Hydroblock clamping system, available on their HMG horizontal injection molding machines. Here, two lateral pistons enable a fast approach of the moving platen, followed by insertion of a locking platen prior to exerting the clamping force through a short-stroke, high-pressure piston.
