The Akron Rubber Group will hold its fall technical meeting jointly with the Northeast Ohio Rubber Group, September 26 at the Casa Di Borally in Richmond Heights, OH. The Detroit Rubber Group will sponsor a technical symposium September 19 at the Daimler-Chrysler Technology Center in Auburn Hills, MI. The ticket price is $110, and seating capacity is limited to 700. The symposium is directed toward representatives from the rubber and chemical industry, including rubber article manufacturers, custom mixers, raw material manufacturers, independent testing laboratories, fluid manufacturers, testing equipment manufacturers, automotive platform engineers, Tier One full service system component engineers and other sub-component system manufacturers. This one-day program is intended to broaden the communications between multiple tier level manufacturers in a coordinated technical forum. Eleven guest speakers will describe expectations and challenges facing the rubber and chemical industry and subsystem OEM suppliers for future performance needs. The symposium is intended to encourage follow-up and response between the automotive OEM manufacturers and the various manufacturers represented by the guest speakers. Additionally, two speakers from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration are are also expected to speak on elastomer technology.
